In each notebook on the top menu:

1: ย  Click on "File"

2: ย  Then, click on "Open"

You will be able to see all the notebook files for the lesson, including any helper functions used in the notebook on the left sidebar. See the following image for the steps above.

In each notebook on the top menu:

2: ย  Then, click on "Download as"

3: ย  Then, click on "Notebook (.ipynb)"

After following the steps shown in the previous section ("File" => "Open"), then click on "Upload" button to upload your files.


๐Ÿ“— ย  See Your Progress

Once you enroll in this courseโ€”or any other short course on the DeepLearning.AI platformโ€”and open it, you can click on 'My Learning' at the top right corner of the desktop view. There, you will be able to see all the short courses you have enrolled in and your progress in each one.

Additionally, your progress in each short course is displayed at the bottom-left corner of the learning page for each course (desktop view).

๐ŸŽž ย  Adjust Video Speed: Click on the gear icon (โš™) on the video and then from the Speed option, choose your desired video speed.

๐Ÿ—ฃ ย  Captions (English and Spanish): Click on the gear icon (โš™) on the video and then from the Captions option, choose to see the captions either in English or Spanish.

๐Ÿ”… ย  Video Quality: If you do not have access to high-speed internet, click on the gear icon (โš™) on the video and then from Quality, choose the quality that works the best for your Internet speed.

๐Ÿ–ฅ ย  Picture in Picture (PiP): This feature allows you to continue watching the video when you switch to another browser tab or window. Click on the small rectangle shape on the video to go to PiP mode.

โˆš ย  Hide and Unhide Lesson Navigation Menu: If you do not have a large screen, you may click on the small hamburger icon beside the title of the course to hide the left-side navigation menu. You can then unhide it by clicking on the same icon again.

Welcome to this short course Building an AI Powered Game, built in partnership with Together AI and AI Dungeon. In this course, you learn how to build an AI-powered, text-based game, including creating a world, setting up cool mechanics, and preparing for productionization. At the end, you have a playable game that you can share with your friends. I'm delighted to introduce our instructors, Niki Birkner, who is Senior Product Manager at Together AI, as was Nick Walton, who is CEO and Co-Founder of Latitude, where he created AI Dungeon. Niki has played a pivotal role in scaling to get AI, leading the product development of this serverless and dedicated inference API and front end. And Nick built the original AI Dungeon at the hackathon, and now focuses on developing new types of game experiences that are only possible with AI. Nick and Niki work together to help AI dungeon continually improve the AI experience for players using Together AI's service. Thanks, Andrew. I'm thrilled to be here and share my experiences in building games with AI. Thanks, Andrew. I'm excited to dive into this course with all of you. In this course, you learn to build a game from scratch using LLMs and optimize the performance of the model while keeping costs low. Niki and Nick will guide you through the building blocks of AI game development including safety systems using Llama Guard. You'll start by using hierarchical content generation to create an entire world based on your prompt instructions. This includes developing kingdoms, towns, and characters that make your game experience feel alive. Next, you'll learn to build an interactive AI application by creating an AI roleplay game and integrating the world you've created into a fun game experience. Finally, you will learn how to implement complex mechanics by using AI to parse text data into structured json output. This will allow you to build an inventory detection system and other mechanics that track and leverage structured game state. In addition, you will learn to enforce content safety and compliance for AI game content generation based on specified policies. You'll also build your own custom policies for your game using Llama Guard. With these techniques, you'll be able to build more creative and innovative AI applications, starting with your game. Many people have worked to create this course. I like to thank Abhy Vengavillagam, Hassan El Mghari, Jamie de Guerre. And Vipul Ved Prakash, from Together AI and AI Dungeon. As well, Diala Ezzeddine from DeepLearning.AI who have all contributed to this course.
